Family Friction Follows Employees to Work

Morning conflict and rushed routines create tension before the workday begins.

Employees arrive late, distracted, or already depleted.

When the home runs on friction instead of structure, that stress carries into the workplace. Some employees can mask it. Many cannot.

Reduced focus and lower energy are often treated as performance problems. In many cases, they stem from unresolved pressure at home.

Sunny Jensen | Founder

For over 25 years I have worked across education, operations, and family systems. I have spoken publicly to military audiences and families across the United States and Australia — and my work has reached families in South Africa as well.

Before I ever stepped into a classroom, I spent eight years in management with an international organization where I learned strategic planning, program execution, and organizational analytics. I was trained in business investigation technology — the discipline of finding the why behind a problem so it can be resolved and the organization can expand. I was mentored by people who had done this work for over two decades. That foundation shaped everything I do today.

I left that work to raise my children. When they reached school age I applied for a position at their school to stay close to them. I was hired as Administrative Director — but before I could fully step into that role, a teacher quit two weeks before school started. I was asked to cover the classroom. That is how I became an educator.

From there I went on to lead a struggling private school through full WASC accreditation — establishing the institutional standards, systems, and operational discipline that turned it around.

Across every environment — boardrooms, classrooms, and homes — I observed the same pattern. When structure inside the home is unclear, everything else becomes harder.

But this work is not just professional for me. It is personal.

I grew up in a world where divorce was the norm. It was all around me — and I chose to do something different. My husband and I have been married since 1992. We put in the work. We built the structure. And today our two sons are living abroad, thriving in their marriages and careers. Between us we have eight grandparents in our family — and I am proud that the cycle we came from did not define where we landed.

That is what structure inside a family produces across a generation.

Create Family Institute was built because every family deserves a direction. And every mom deserves the tools to create one.

Evaluate Workforce Stability

Before launching a pilot, schedule a structured diagnostic call.

During this session, we will assess:

  • Turnover exposure and replacement cost
  • Attendance instability and family-related disruption
  • Manager time diverted to instability correction
  • Retention cost and productivity drag
  • Modeled financial impact of a 1% stability gain

This is not a sales call.
It is an operational assessment.

If workforce stability is costing more than it appears, you should know.

Schedule a Workforce Stability Diagnostic

The graph above represents a conceptual modeling framework. Financial and operational projections are calculated during the Workforce Stability Diagnostic using organization-specific data.
